Mike specializes in Chicago style house music. His standard gear is tabletop CD players with Serato Scratch Live. Mike generally prefers Denon and Ecler mixers and either Pioneer CDJ-800 or Pioneer CDJ-1000 decks. Mike also spins on vinyl from time to time provided the booth is DVS accesible.

Mike does not spin Top 40 or current mainstream hip-hop as he thinks most of it is basically crap and draws a crap crowd. House and EDM crowds draw a smaller crowd, but generate far higher average tickets, almost never have fights or other behavior problems, and are notoriously polite to your staff. While the full floors of Top 40 would indicate success, the bar till usually says otherwise. There's no success in having a crowd that buys two beers all night, stands around holding their genitals, and then starts a fight because some MTV wannabe bimbo won't give him a standing lap dance.
